Digital Pathology Workflow Intern

The Digital Pathology Workflow Internship is for a medical student who wants to understand the practical language of slide review, biomarker analysis, and laboratory workflow documentation. The intern will help turn observations into clear, non-clinical workflow notes that can be reviewed by experienced colleagues.

Assignments may include mapping the steps a user takes through a software workflow, reviewing terminology for clarity, and identifying where a written instruction needs context. All activities are educational and supervised. They do not involve operating as a clinician, making a diagnosis, handling patients, or accessing patient records.

Learning activities

• Map non-clinical user journeys for slide review, biomarker assessment, and result documentation.
• Review interface terminology and workflow instructions for ambiguity, missing context, or inconsistent use.
• Prepare structured questions that help subject-matter reviewers evaluate a workflow description.
• Compare educational workflow examples and identify differences in assumptions, roles, and hand-offs.
• Help maintain a controlled set of terminology and acceptance notes for future educational review.
• Present findings in short supervised sessions and revise documents after feedback.

Required eligibility

• At least a fourth-year medical student at the time of application.
• Active enrollment in an accredited medical university or medical faculty.
• Interest in pathology, laboratory medicine, digital health, or the organization of clinical information.
• Ability to describe a process precisely without implying that software output is a diagnosis or treatment recommendation.
• Strong written communication and comfort working through detailed feedback.
• Willingness to follow supervised access, confidentiality, and documentation procedures.

This is a 0 BGN supervised educational placement under a written university-company arrangement.
